what we do
Centre for Faith and Public Life
The EFC brings biblical principles to bear on law and public policy, witnessing through constructive engagement in public life. This work is centralized under the CFPL, which has its centre of operations near Parliament Hill in Ottawa, TheEFC.ca/CFPL

CPFL staff, under the direction of Julia Beazley, submit briefs and letters to provincial, national and international bodies. Team members participate in government consultations and court cases on issues of concern.

Equipping Evangelicals
To equip EFC affiliates and other Canadians, they also present online policy briefings to affiliate groups and prepare advocacy resources on bills (free to download at TheEFC.ca). Such advocacy resources include sample text for writing to an MP on an issue, single page summaries of current issues, educational videos to share, and more.

For example, some key issues in 2026 included:
-
Euthanasia / MAiD (expansion for mental illness alone, defending ability of Christian healthcare facilities to offer care consistent with religious beliefs)
-
Sexual exploitation / Prostitution / Pornography
-
Hate crimes legislation, Bill C-9
-
Intervening in court cases related to religious freedom: two in Quebec (Harvest Ministries, Ministerios Restauración), one in B.C. on healthcare facilities declaring themselves euthanasia-free spaces (St. Paul’s Hospital aka O’Neil v. His Majesty the King) and another in B.C. on freedom from government oversight on theological matters (Vabuolas v. B.C.).
